Join the Kennedy Center in celebration of Juneteenth with two uplifting events on June 19: We Move In Color: See and Feel the Journey is an immersive performing and visual art experience chronicling the inspirational journey of African Americans from pre-slavery to Afro-futurism (Millennium Stage, 6 p.m.), and A Gospel Symphony Celebration with the National Symphony Orchestra pays tribute to Richard Smallwood at 75 with Dorinda Clark Cole, Maurette Brown Clark, Marvin Winans & Vision (Concert Hall, 8 p.m.).

SLOPERA! A Bite-Sized Opera is based on Mo Willems’ book I Really Like Slop! that brings Elephant and Piggie to a place they’ve always belonged: the opera! Elephant and Piggie are best friends, but what happens to besties when they find out they might not be able to share everything together? Do friends have to like all the same things? Free registration required.
